Drummond Street Artists:
Where Every Story Deserves a Canvas.
Who we are
Drummond Street Artists (DSA) is a London-based collective that supports individuals who have experienced homelessness or social exclusion through the transformative power of art. Founded in January 2023 by artist Geraldine Crimmins, the collective is based at the Old Diorama Arts Centre and provides a welcoming space where artists can create, connect, and exhibit their work.
DSA is working with around 25 participants, with 11 to 17 artists regularly attending each session. This consistent engagement reflects the strong sense of community, belonging, and creative opportunity that the collective offers.
Our Mission
To provide a creative sanctuary for artists affected by homelessness, enabling them to express themselves, develop their skills, and gain visibility within the wider arts community. By building a community grounded in empathy and artistic expression, we aim to challenge stigma and promote a more inclusive society.
Our Vision
We envision a world where everyone, regardless of their housing situation or background, has access to artistic opportunity. Through creativity, we aim to build bridges, inspire change, and shine a light on the resilience and talent of people whose voices are too often unheard.
Weekend Studio Sessions
Each weekend, DSA runs open studio sessions at the Old Diorama Arts Centre. These sessions offer a warm, welcoming space for artists to make work, share food, and build connections with others who understand their journey.
Exhibitions
We regularly curate exhibitions to showcase the diverse talents of our collective. These events provide public platforms for our artists and invite audiences to engage with powerful work rooted in lived experience.
Mentoring
DSA offers mentoring to support members in developing their practice, building confidence, and navigating the professional art world. We help emerging artists gain the tools and guidance they need to flourish creatively and professionally.
Founded with the belief that art can be a catalyst for personal and social transformation, Drummond Street Artists continues to grow as a community where creativity thrives, voices are heard, and lives are changed.
